“The small and medium enterprise sector should grow on a large scale and change the world of today’s AI technology,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) V Abhishek. He was speaking while inaugurating a one-day awareness workshop on the TReDS project organised by the Industries and Commerce Department, KCTU, TEXAC Bangalore and District Industrial Centrea at Shanthala Spherocast Learning Center in Machenahalli Industrial Area under the RAMP scheme on Friday.

“Agriculture is the backbone of this country and plays its own role in food production. But now industrial production is merging with agriculture and is helping the country technologically and moving forward. Accordingly, MSMEs contribute 30 percent of the GDP to the country, and 40 percent of the production of industrial enterprises in the country is being exported. This is increasing the number of employees in the industrial sector like agriculture,” he said.

Siddaraju, CEO and Chief Advisor, TEXAC, said that in 2019-20, the country’s small and medium industries faced a lot of problems due to Covid. Capital investment was reduced and production units were at a standstill. Realizing this, the central and state governments, with the help of the World Bank, came forward to invest in production units under RAMP. Industrial units should invest money by bringing together sellers and buyers. This will enable the industrial unit to run continuously, he said.

Joint Director of the District Industrial Center R Ganesh, President of District Small Industries Association Jois Ramachar, KASIA Representative Member S Visvesvaraya, District Lead Bank Chief Manager P Hanumanthappa, KSFC Branch Manager Dattatri, Deputy Director of the District Industrial Center H Suresh, and Deputy Director of Rural Industries SP Ravindra participated.
