Siddaramaiah Urges Court Decision on Dasara

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reacted sharply to reports of BJP leader Pratap Simha approaching the court over the Dasara inauguration issue, stating that the matter should be decided within the court itself. The Chief Minister, speaking in Bengaluru, also mocked the BJP, pointing out that leaders like Hyderali, Tippu, Mirza Ismail, and Nisar Ahmad never approached the courts, implying that Simha had turned to legal recourse because he felt neglected within his own party.

Siddaramaiah’s comments came amid ongoing political debates regarding the Dasara event and its formal inauguration. The CM emphasized that internal party neglect should not translate into public controversies and that legal channels remain the proper forum for resolution. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has also been briefed on the Maddur violence. Officials from the Home Department, including Police Commissioner Salim and District Minister Chaluvarayaswamy, provided updates on the incident and ongoing investigations. Siddaramaiah instructed the police to maintain tight security and ensure law and order in the affected areas.

During media interactions, Siddaramaiah questioned the whereabouts of local leaders, asking where the Maddur MLA was during the unrest. Officials clarified that the MLA was in London at the time, attending to personal matters.

Siddaramaiah’s remarks underline his administration’s approach of addressing political disputes through legal and administrative channels while emphasizing public safety and accountability in incidents like the Maddur unrest. Authorities continue to monitor developments closely to prevent further escalation and maintain order across the state.
