BDA Leaders Prioritize Safety, Cleanliness, and Green Urban Spaces
On Monday morning, BDA Chairman and MLA Shri N.A. Harris, along with Central City Corporation Commissioner Shri Rajendra Cholan, conducted a detailed inspection of Shantinagar area under Bengaluru Central City Corporation. The officials reviewed ongoing civic works and issued directions to enhance infrastructure and urban aesthetics.
During the inspection, special focus was given to the maintenance of pedestrian walkways, proper illumination of streets, and overall beautification of public spaces. Officers were instructed to ensure that sidewalks are not only functional but also visually appealing, with well-maintained greenery and clear, safe pedestrian paths.
The inspection also highlighted the importance of bollard installation along walkways to prevent encroachment and improve safety for pedestrians. Officials were directed to prioritize street cleanliness using mechanized garbage collection machines, ensuring that major roads remain clean and hygienic.
BDA Chairman Shri Harris emphasized that well-designed walkways and streets not only improve urban mobility but also enhance the quality of life for residents. He called on officials to adopt a citizen-centric approach, combining aesthetics, safety, and functionality in all development activities.
Accompanying the Chairman and Commissioner were BDA Additional Commissioner Manivannan, Chief Engineer Suguna, and other senior officers, who discussed execution plans, timelines, and coordination between departments. The team also reviewed ongoing maintenance works and planned upgrades to ensure timely completion and efficient management of urban infrastructure.
