DCP Traffic East reviews key junctions

In a bid to ease traffic congestion during peak hours, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic East) carried out an inspection of major junctions on Monday. The visit covered Vibgyor U-Turn, Marathahalli Bridge Junction, and Le Arabia Junction, all falling under the limits of Whitefield and HAL Airport Traffic Police Stations.

Accompanied by station officers and the ACP of Whitefield Traffic, the DCP reviewed traffic inflow and outflow patterns at these high-density points. The inspection focused on identifying recurring bottlenecks and devising practical solutions to ensure smoother vehicular movement, especially during rush hours.

Officials discussed possible improvements, including streamlining signal cycles, creating designated turning zones, and enhancing ground-level enforcement to prevent violations that disrupt traffic flow. The DCP also stressed the importance of effective lane discipline and pedestrian safety in reducing congestion and accidents.

After the review, suitable directions were issued to field officers for immediate implementation. Authorities are also considering long-term measures such as junction redesigns and better integration with feeder roads.

The DCP emphasized that continuous monitoring and coordination with field staff are vital for effective traffic management in Bengaluru’s growing urban sprawl. The initiative forms part of the traffic department’s broader strategy to address congestion hotspots across the city and improve the commuting experience for thousands of daily travelers.
