Bengaluru North Commissioner inspects key projects

In a proactive review of civic works, Bengaluru North City Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar conducted early morning inspections of crucial infrastructure projects on Monday. The visits were aimed at assessing progress and ensuring timely completion of works critical to easing urban mobility in the northern parts of the city.

At the Jakkur ROB Upramp, the Commissioner directed the contractor and officials to accelerate construction activities and complete the project within the next three months. He emphasized that any further delays would inconvenience thousands of daily commuters who rely on this stretch for connectivity to arterial routes.

The inspection also covered the Jakkur Railway Parallel Road, which links to Bellary Road, a vital corridor for traffic movement toward the airport and central Bengaluru. The Commissioner reviewed the alignment, quality of work, and traffic diversions in place, instructing engineers to resolve pending issues and maintain safety standards during construction. Officials noted that these projects, once completed, are expected to significantly decongest traffic around Jakkur, providing smoother travel for both local residents and commuters heading toward key city junctions.

The Commissioner reiterated that civic authorities and contractors must work in close coordination to avoid cost overruns and ensure projects are delivered on schedule. He further assured that periodic site visits would continue to monitor progress and address public concerns. The inspections reflect the Greater Bengaluru Authority’s focus on accountability, faster execution, and infrastructure upgrades to meet the city’s rapidly growing demands.
