Tata Motors to cut prices from Sep 22

New Delhi

Tata Motors has announced that it will fully pass on the benefits of the recent GST rate cut to its commercial vehicle customers. The new, lower prices will be effective from September 22, when the revised 18% GST rate comes into effect.

The company confirmed that heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) will get cheaper by Rs 2.8 to 4.65 lakh. Intermediate, light, and medium commercial vehicles (ILMCVs) will see price cuts between Rs 1 and 3 lakh. Buses and vans will be cheaper by Rs 1.2 to 4.35 lakh, while small commercial passenger vehicles (SCVs) will drop by Rs 52,000 to 66,000. SCVs and pickups will see reductions of Rs 30,000 to 1.1 lakh.

Girish Wagh, Executive Director at Tata Motors, said the move shows the government’s strong support for India’s transport and logistics sectors. He added that the reduced prices will help small businesses and fleet owners lower their operating costs and adopt newer, cleaner vehicles.

Tata Motors expects this change to speed up fleet modernisation and support economic growth. The company is urging customers to book early to take advantage of the price cuts during the upcoming festive season.
