The Commissioner of Bengaluru North City Corporation, Pommal Sunil Kumar, convened an important introductory meeting with officials and staff from multiple departments including Engineering, Revenue, Health, and Administration at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan in Yelahanka.
The meeting served as a platform for the Commissioner to familiarize himself with departmental operations while also providing constructive guidance on improving the efficiency of the corporation’s ongoing works. He stressed the need for inter-departmental coordination to ensure the timely execution of civic projects, better service delivery, and enhanced transparency in administrative functioning.
Shri Sunil Kumar highlighted that the Engineering Department must focus on infrastructure development, including roadworks, stormwater drain management, and civic amenities, while the Revenue Department should prioritize efficiency in tax collection and addressing grievances from residents. Similarly, the Health Department was urged to strengthen sanitation drives, waste management systems, and preventive health programs in the city.
He also emphasized the importance of adopting technology-driven approaches for improving efficiency, ensuring accountability, and making public services more citizen-friendly. The Commissioner called upon the officials and staff to maintain clear communication with residents and proactively address public concerns to build greater trust in the corporation’s work.
The meeting concluded with a detailed discussion on the progress of various projects under the Bengaluru North City Corporation’s jurisdiction. Shri Sunil Kumar assured that periodic reviews will be conducted to assess the improvements and to ensure that every department contributes effectively towards the city’s overall development.
