The CK Achchukattu police have registered a suo motu case regarding alleged vulgar comments made against actor Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, during a television programme. The complaint was initially submitted to the Women’s Commission, which recommended police action, prompting the registration of the case.
The controversial remarks were made two years ago, but the report was filed only recently, delaying the investigation. Several social media accounts responsible for the posts have since deleted them, complicating evidence collection.
Police have issued a notice to Vijayalakshmi, requesting her explanation regarding the matter. Authorities indicated that the case could be closed once her statement is received, depending on the investigation’s findings. Despite receiving the notice three days ago, Vijayalakshmi has yet to respond or appear for the inquiry.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to trace the deleted posts and ascertain responsibility for the offensive content.
