A passenger of the Himachal Express has alleged a well-organised gang is looting valuables on trains between Kurukshetra, Karnal, and Panipat, citing systematic negligence by railway authorities, according to an FIR.
Sachin Jain, a resident of Greater Noida, filed the complaint with the Government Railway Police Sirhind after he was robbed on August 2, 2025. Jain said he boarded the train from Rupnagar to Delhi and around 2:30 am, while passengers were asleep, several miscreants entered the AC first-class coach and stole valuables. He lost a laptop, cash, spectacles, a pendrive, and other belongings worth over Rs 2 lakh, while other passengers collectively lost items estimated at Rs 20-25 lakh.
Jain claimed no TTE or RPF personnel were present, and pantry staff admitted such thefts were common on this route. He alleged possible complicity of railway or police staff and urged an independent investigation. Jain also criticised RailMadad for closing his complaint without proper inquiry, highlighting the urgent need for passenger safety measures.
