Mangaluru
Tomato prices fell in the coastal region after the slump was noticed first in capital Bengaluru. In Mangaluru and Udupi, tomato was sold at Rs 70 per kilo on Friday. The price of tomato which had reached Rs 200 in some states, was on a downward trend from Monday. On Tuesday, it was sold at Rs 90-100 and on Thursday slumped further to Rs 80 per kilo. Tomatoes are supplied in huge quantities after the rains have reduced which has caused the slump in the prices. Sources said that the price will go down further in a few days.
