The state’s comprehensive social survey, covering all communities, will play a key role in supporting welfare programs for small and marginalized groups, said MLA Iqbal Hussain. Speaking at a press conference at his city office on Friday, he confirmed that the survey has been successfully launched across the district. The initiative will begin with children as young as six years and will be conducted using four mobile applications. “This survey is crucial for designing government schemes so that no citizen is deprived of benefits,” Hussain stated.
He urged all residents to cooperate fully when survey personnel visit their homes. Citizens are requested to provide accurate details regarding religion, caste, and sub-caste, and to answer all 60 questions carefully, taking adequate time. “If residents are unavailable during the home visit, they can register and submit their information via the app or at designated Cyber Centers,” he added. So far, 5,000 surveys have been completed out of 3.6 lakh families in the district. A new survey app has been prepared, and initial technical issues have been resolved, paving the way for faster progress.
Present at the press conference were District Guarantee Committee President K. Raju, City Council President K. Sheshadri (Shashi), Project Authority President Chetan Kumar, City Council Vice President Ayesha Banu, District Officer of the Backward Classes Welfare Department Bilal, and Commissioner Dr. Jayanna. The MLA emphasized that public participation is essential to ensure the survey’s success and to facilitate the effective implementation of welfare schemes across the district.
