BAGALKOT
Former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi had recently lashed out at former Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar from Hunagund constituency in Ilaka town during the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp Yatra. To this, Kashappanavar responded by saying that he will go to Gokak and definitely give an answer.
Speaking at his residence in Ilakal town, Kashappanavar said, I went to Gokak constituency for the reservation conference of my society and people know what I have said there. They come to my constituency and make allegations against me here. Let’s see if he first casts his vote in his constituency Gokak. I have my society there and when the opportunity arises, I will go there and give an answer, he said.
Reacting to Ramesh Jarkiholi’s statement that ST, SC and OBC communities in Hunagund constituency should not vote for former MLAs, he said, let them come to my constituency, I challenge them. For the last 50 years, we have been doing politics since the time of my father, including the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of my constituency. When Siddaramaiah was the chief minister in this constituency earlier, many bhavans were constructed from the Government. What we have done within the Ganga Kalyana Yojana. Let Ramesh Jarkiholi come and see. If people agree to them, let them come and do it. Who is he to tell the people, is he a great leader?, Kashappanavar questioned.
At the same time, Kashappanavar continued his attack on Ramesh Jarkiholi and asked, Is he a dictator? The king of any country? It is a democratic country so the citizens have to decide. Will the people decide as soon as he says so? he retorted.
