Former minister H. Anjaneya alleged massive financial misappropriation across Holalkere constituency on Monday, demanding a comprehensive probe into crores of rupees sanctioned for rural irrigation and community development since 2018.
Addressing reporters at the local tourist hall, Anjaneya stated that funds released across diverse departments, including water resources, mineral foundations, and rural engineering units, were severely looted. He pointed out that mandatory public display boards specifying contract sums, vendor names, and project details were deliberately ignored at worksites to hide irregularities.
Citing specific instances, the senior leader claimed that when a conscientious engineer refused to clear an incomplete thirty-crore irrigation bill, the administrative file was abruptly transferred to Hiriyur division for unauthorized approval. He cautioned government personnel that yielding to unlawful political pressure would ultimately invite severe criminal prosecution. He alleged that local administrators bypassed transparent procedures during lake dredging, open well restorations, and check dam construction across the entire region.
Furthermore, Anjaneya highlighted gross violations in allocating special welfare grants and housing schemes without statutory village assembly approvals. He announced plans to submit a formal memorandum to the deputy commissioner seeking complete documentary verification. Once concrete paperwork is obtained, he vowed to launch an anti-corruption awareness march and approach the Lokayukta, investigation agencies, and the Governor.
Former district vice-president H.N. Tippeswamy criticized officials for falsely branding school transport purchased through foundation funds as personal legislative contributions. Several local party leaders, including Shivakumar, Krishnamurthy, Lohit Kumar, and Chetan Borenahalli, attended the press conference in support of the allegations. Demanding administrative accountability, Anjaneya affirmed that public funds meant to alleviate agricultural distress and rural hardship must never end up lining corrupt pockets. The district administration faces mounting pressure to initiate prompt legal scrutiny.
