A 10-day Entrepreneurship Development Training Programme for men and women interested in self-employment was inaugurated at the Daridipa Multipurpose Women’s Organisation in Gadag on Monday.
The programme is being organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK), Gadag, with the support of the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood. The training is aimed at people from different sections of society who wish to start their own businesses and become self-employed.
Inaugurating the programme, District Skill Development Officer N.S. Kulkarni said entrepreneurship training programmes provide valuable guidance and motivation to aspiring entrepreneurs. He said participants would gain knowledge about various aspects of starting and managing an enterprise and urged them to make full use of the training.
Successful entrepreneur Shakuntala Mulagund also participated in the programme and shared her experience. She spoke about the entrepreneurship training she had earlier received from CEDOK and explained how she developed her venture, Shri Kshetra Herbal Haircare and Food Products. She encouraged the participants to consider entrepreneurship as an opportunity for self-employment and economic growth.
Resource person Rashmi Shirahatti conducted the sessions on the first day. CEDOK trainer Manjunatha Mulagunda anchored the inaugural programme and delivered the vote of thanks, while CEDOK trainer Vijayalakshmi Nellur was also present. A total of 34 participants are taking part in the 10-day training programme.
