In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics, officials from the Crime Control Branch (CCB) Anti-Narcotics Wing arrested nine drug peddlers, including two foreign nationals, following a well-coordinated operation in the city. The operation led to the seizure of a massive quantity of drugs, preventing their circulation in local and regional markets.
Authorities recovered a total of 506 kilograms of Ganja, 85 kilograms of Hashish, and 56 kilograms of Hydro Ganja from the suspects, with an estimated market value of approximately ₹1.5 crore. Officials stated that the seizure represents a significant blow to organized drug networks operating in and around Bengaluru. The arrested Individuals are currently in police custody and are being interrogated to trace the source of the consignment and identify any additional accomplices involved in the distribution chain. Investigators are also examining whether the seized drugs were intended for sale within the city or smuggling to other states.
The CCB Anti-Narcotics Wing emphasized the need for continued vigilance and intelligence-led operations to combat the growing menace of drug trafficking. Police officials urged citizens to report any suspicious activity, highlighting that community cooperation is crucial in preventing the spread of illegal substances.
