Union Minister V. Somanna to Review Railway Infrastructure

Union Minister V. Somanna will undertake a tour of Bengaluru South district today to review railway infrastructure works.

Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V. Somanna will undertake an official tour of Bengaluru South (Ramanagara) district today to review key railway infrastructure projects and assess the progress of ongoing development works.

According to the schedule released by the Minister’s office, Somanna will depart from KSR Railway Station, Bengaluru, at 7.45 am and arrive at Bidadi Railway Station at 8.30 am. Upon arrival, he will conduct an inspection of Bidadi Railway Station from 8.30 am to 9.00 am. During the inspection, railway officials are expected to brief the Minister on passenger amenities, safety arrangements, operational facilities, and proposed improvements aimed at enhancing commuter convenience.

Following the station inspection, the Union Minister will visit the Toyota manufacturing plant at 9.20 am. The visit is expected to focus on issues related to industrial development, logistics connectivity, and the role of rail infrastructure in supporting major industries in the region.

Later in the day, Somanna will return to Bidadi Railway Station at 11.20 am and depart by train to Ramanagara Railway Station, where he is scheduled to arrive at 11.45 am. At Ramanagara, the Minister will inspect the ongoing Amrit Bharat Station redevelopment works. The inspection, scheduled to continue until 12.15 pm, will review the progress of modernisation efforts aimed at improving passenger facilities, accessibility, station aesthetics, and overall efficiency.

After completing the inspection, Somanna will depart from Ramanagara Railway Station at 12.15 pm and proceed back to KSR Railway Station, Bengaluru. The visit is part of the Union Government’s continued focus on strengthening railway infrastructure, upgrading stations under flagship schemes, and ensuring improved travel experiences for passengers across Karnataka, an official release said.
