Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep to lock horns at the box office in July

One may wonder how can a Bollywood actor be supposedly said to lock horns with a Kannada actor and the answer to this question can be directly linked with the Twitter spat that both the actors Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep had recently, regarding the subject of Hindi as the national language. Now the row has turned its direction to the box office as both actors’ films ‘Thank God’, and ‘Vikrant Rona’ will hit the big screens in the month of July.

Previously, in November the Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn shared an announcement that his ‘slice of life’ comedy entertainer ‘Thank God’ will be released on July 29 this year. Sharing a title card of the film, Ajay Devgn penned an Instagram note that read, “Happy to announce that ‘Thank God’, a slice of life hilarious film with a message will release on 29th July.”
Interestingly, Kiccha Sudeep’s upcoming movie ‘Vikrant Rona’ is also makings its entry into the big screens on July 28 this year. The release date was announced by the makers by unveiling a teaser from the Kiccha Sudeep starrer that showcased a fierce look of the actor.
Fans have started a heated discussion on this interestingly same month movie releases of both the actors Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep and most of them are connecting it with the language row between both the stars.
Kiccha Sudeep’s ‘Vikrant Rona’ is touted as a thriller film that will be released on a pan-Indian level in over 10 languages. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s ‘Thank God’ is a pure comedy entertainer that is set to release only in the Hindi language and will have the actors Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh in pivotal roles.
For the unversed, the language row between Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep kickstarted the last month as the latter one mentioned in an interview that Hindi was not our national language. The video went viral and Ajay Devgn couldn’t keep mum on Sudeep’s statement as he took to his official Twitter handle and said that Hindi will and always be the national language of India. This indeed sparked a row between the two actors and also several Karnataka leaders came forward opposing Ajay Devgn’s argument by calling him the ‘Mouthpiece of BJP’.
