In the aftermath of the Waqf land dispute, party loyalists are organizing a separate march aimed at pressuring the Delhi leadership to take action against Basanagowda Patil Yatnal and his supporters. The march comes amid rising tensions within the party over leadership issues, particularly following a heavy defeat in the recent by-elections.
According to party sources, the BJP is planning to escalate the matter by filing a formal complaint with the Delhi high command. State BJP President BY Vijayendra is set to discuss the situation with central leaders in December. Yatnal, a senior BJP MLA, has been highly critical of the state leadership, particularly targeting Vijayendra. Yatnal’s demand for Vijayendra’s resignation post-by-election, along with his faction’s stance on the Waqf issue, has caused significant friction within the party. Vijayendra, in turn, is reportedly planning to take action against Yatnal for his growing anti-party activities.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by senior BJP leaders, including former Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu and former MLA MP Renukacharya, has decided to meet BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. This group, aligned with the Vijayendra faction, intends to seek intervention from the high command. They argue that the ongoing agitation over the Waqf land issue is causing unnecessary confusion and harming the party’s organization and morale.
