Nayanika Sanga shot a solid four-under 68 to take a one-shot lead after the opening round of the 15th and final leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Boulder Hills Golf & Country Club on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old, aiming for her first win on the Tour, carded seven birdies, including a trio on the back nine from holes 11 to 13. Despite an early bogey on the second hole, she recovered with birdies on the fourth, eighth, and five more on the back nine, including two in the final holes.
Hitaashee Bakshi, last week’s winner, is in second place with a 69, alongside Jasmine Shekar, also at 69. Hitaashee had an early bogey but recovered with birdies on holes 5, 7, and 9, followed by further birdies on the 11th and 15th, with a bogey on the 13th. Jasmine, after four birdies in the first seven holes, struggled in the middle with three bogeys, but ended strongly with a birdie on the 18th.
Amandeep Drall, Gaurika Bishnoi, Sneha Singh, and Sri Lankan amateur Kaya Daluwatte are tied for fourth at 2-under 70.
Khushi Khanijau is in eighth place at 71, while Vidhatri Urs, Anvitha Narender, Seher Atwal, and amateur Srihita Mandava are tied for ninth at 73.
