Ongoing clashes in Kurram district resulted in five more deaths and 15 injuries, marking the eighth day of violence that began last week on Friday. This surge in violence has led to a total of 46 fatalities and 96 injuries, as confirmed by a hospital official.

The conflict reportedly started when the Boshehra tribes began building bunkers on land owned by the Ahmadzai tribes, quickly escalating into broader disputes across the region. Police and hospital sources noted that at least ten individuals were either killed or injured in various areas, including Balishkhel, Sadda, and Parachinar, with key roads like the main Parachinar Highway facing significant disruptions.

Former federal minister Sajid Toori acknowledged the severe impact of the armed clashes on daily life but expressed hope for a peaceful resolution soon. Additionally, Engineer Hameed Hussain, the parliamentary leader of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM), protested outside the Parachinar Press Club, criticizing the failure of authorities to restore peace.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur assured that efforts were underway to restore law and order in the province, especially in the southern districts. He emphasized the need for police capability enhancement before transferring control of more checkpoints and confirmed that negotiations were ongoing to address the conflicts in Kurram and Khyber districts.
