On Wednesday, Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy announced his readiness to undertake a hunger strike in Delhi if Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) joins him. This offer came in response to challenges from BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao during a heated debate in the Assembly about perceived discrimination against Telangana in the Union Budget.

Revanth Reddy urged KCR to participate in a joint fast at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to demand increased Central funds for Telangana. He stated, Let KCR, as Leader of Opposition, step forward. I am prepared to join him in a fast-unto-death to secure the funds or sacrifice our lives. He invited BRS leaders to set a date for the protest.

The Assembly session saw intense exchanges over the Congress government’s resolution accusing the Centre of bias against Telangana. Revanth Reddy criticized KCR for his absence during this critical debate, questioning his commitment to the state’s interests. He suggested that KCR might be avoiding the session to avoid attention from PM.

In response, Rama Rao argued that BRS MLAs were fully capable of addressing the issue and criticized the state government for not informing the Opposition about the topics in advance.
