New Delhi
The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest in New Delhi on Wednesday against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments regarding Hinduism. Rahul Gandhi had made these remarks during a speech in the Lok Sabha on Monday while debating the motion of thanks on President Droupadi Murmu’s address.
Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva led the protest, joined by BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, BJP leader Arvind Singh Lovely, and BJP MP Tejasvi Surya from Bengaluru. Swaraj criticized Rahul Gandhi’s statement as irresponsible and accused him of indulging in appeasement politics for electoral gain.
Rahul Gandhi deliberately made irresponsible remarks and should apologize. His statements reflect an anti-Hindu bias and appeasement politics. He shows a different side when it comes to vote-bank politics versus his speeches in Parliament, Swaraj told to source.
Tejasvi Surya, the President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), labeled Rahul Gandhi as a habitual offender for disrespecting the Hindu community. Rahul Gandhi repeatedly insults Hindus with his statements. His ‘saffron terror’ remarks after the 26/11 attacks and blaming Hindus for terrorism are examples. His speeches seem aligned with foreign agendas to defame India and Hindus, Surya alleged.
Surya further accused the Congress of presiding over most communal riots post-Independence, alleging a pattern of divisive politics under their rule.
