Incessant Rain, 4 Killed After Wall Collapse

Four people were killed after a retaining wall collapsed on a house in the Madani Nagara area on the outskirts of Mangaluru, Karnataka. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning within the limits of the Ullal police station. All the deceased were members of the same family.
Yasir Katipalla (45), his wife Mariyamma Kandak (40), and their daughters Rashina (19) and Rifaana (16) passed away in the incident.
Four people died when the retaining wall collapsed on the house at Madani Nagara, outskirts of Mangaluru, said MP Mullai Muhilan, Deputy Commissioner.
Local residents quickly arrived at the scene and helped rescue individuals trapped under the debris. The region has been experiencing rain since Tuesday night, which may have contributed to the collapse.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the Dakshina Kannada district until June 27.
