Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Praveen Shetty) and Sangram Sene have urged BJP leaders not to nominate Corporator Ramanna Badiger for Mayoral post and threatened to protest by wearing black ribbon if he was made mayor. Speaking at a joint press conference, Manjunath Lootimath and Sanjeev Dhumaknal, office bearers of Vedike and Sene respectively, alleged that Corporator Ramanna Badiger did injustice to during the allotment of Ashraya houses.
Eligible people were not given Ashraya houses and relatives of Badiger were entertained instead, they alleged. We will meet all local MLAs of BJP and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and appeal them not to finalise Badiger’s name for mayor post, a tainted person should not be made Mayor of the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, said Lootimath.
