The circulation of pen drives and CDs containing thousands of obscene videos, including in Hassan district, has sparked serious concern, prompting demands for a thorough investigation by the CID and stringent legal action against the perpetrators. Kushala Swamy, the president of the Aam Aadmi Party’s women unit, has called upon the state government to address the issue promptly.

Swamy, while addressing the media in Bengaluru on Saturday, mentioned the need for swift action to curb the dissemination of these videos. Expressing deep concern over the impact of the videos, particularly those allegedly involving members of Hassan’s influential political family, Swamy highlighted the tragic consequences, including suicides, among the victims.

The AAP leader stressed the importance of prioritizing the protection of women victims and ensuring their safety in the face of such egregious violations of privacy and dignity. She lamented the callous disregard for the well-being of the women depicted in the videos, urging authorities to take decisive steps to prevent further dissemination and hold the culprits accountable.

With reports suggesting the circulation of over two thousand private videos, Swamy raised pertinent questions regarding the welfare of the victims and the responsibility of those involved in sharing the content. She condemned the exploitation of women for political gain and underscored the urgent need for vigilance among women to avoid falling prey to such distressing situations.

Swamy warned against the grave repercussions of sharing such videos, equating it to a heinous crime against women. Urging women to remain vigilant and resilient, she highlighted the collective responsibility to combat the exploitation and abuse of women in society.
