Complaints Arise Over Absence of Beep Sound During Voting

Must read

Several Bengalureans expressed dissatisfaction after they did not hear the expected beep sound upon casting their votes on Friday. Vincent Pinto, a voter at St Ann’s School, Cambridge Road, Ulsoor, reported his experience, stating that despite pressing the button, there was no beep or VVPAT response for seven seconds. After raising the issue with the election officer, he had to cast his vote twice before the machine finally registered it correctly. Pinto, a retired electronics engineer, highlighted that several senior citizens faced similar issues.

Concerned about the absence of the beep sound, Pinto formally lodged a complaint on the Election Commission of India website, suggesting possible deliberate deception.

Similarly, S Parameshwari, who voted at SBS Bandi Mutt School in Kengeri, Bangalore North, also did not hear the beep when she cast her vote. Upon complaining, she received a dismissive response from poll officials.

Another voter, Shyla, experienced a delay in the beep sound after casting her vote at a booth in CV Raman Nagar. After her complaint, an official intervened, and the beep sound was eventually heard upon her subsequent vote.
