The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in the country was happening in the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency and the polling process was started at 7am. The temperature increased, causing hardship to the voters who come to vote during this time.
Voting started in 1876 polling booths of Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency and despite the scorching sun, voters were seen queuing up early in the morning to cast their votes. The Election Commission had made a shadow arrangement to protect the voters from this heat wave. Awnings have been arranged in polling booths where there is no shade system.For the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha seat, K Padmaraj Pujari from Congress, from BJP Brijesh Chowta, Kanthappa Alangar from BSP, Durga Prasad from Karunada Sevak Party, Manohar from Uttam Prajakiya Party, M Ranjini from KRS, Deepak Rajesh Kuvello, Maxim Pinto, Supreet Kumar Pujari as independent candidates are in the fray.
