To support voter turnout among senior citizens and individuals with special needs, ‘Rapido’ has unveiled its “Savarijimmadariki” initiative. As part of this initiative, the ride-hailing service will offer complimentary bike, taxi, auto, and cab rides to eligible voters on April 26, coinciding with the polling day.
Residents of Bengaluru can avail themselves of this service by using the code ‘VOTENOW’ when traveling to their respective polling booths.
Rapido’s collaboration with the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Brihat Bangalore Mahanagara Palika (BBMP) ensures that special needs and senior citizen voters in Bengaluru can access free auto and cab transportation during the 2024 general elections.
Pawan Guntupally, co-founder of Rapido, highlighted that this initiative aims to provide equal opportunities for differently-abled and senior citizen voters to exercise their democratic rights.
