KPCC working president Manjunath Bhandary criticized the BJP, asserting that the upcoming election represents a choice between life and sentiments. He expressed confidence that the Congress will secure 24 seats in the state.Addressing the media on Tuesday, Manjunath Bhandary emphasized that the construction of the Ram Mandir remains incomplete, accusing the BJP of exploiting it as an election tool. He denounced the BJP’s strategy of seeking votes in the name of Ram Mandir proliferation, labeling it as a manipulation of sentiments. Bhandary stressed the Congress’s rejection of a brand of Hindutva that incites hatred and dismissed the BJP’s claim to provide lessons in Hindutva.He urged against bringing Hindutva, temples, and mosques into the election discourse, emphasizing that the focus should remain on the people. Bhandary questioned the BJP’s authority to label others as anti-nationals and themselves as nationalists.Highlighting the Congress’s electoral prospects, Bhandary referenced the party’s 43 percent vote share in the Assembly elections. He expressed confidence that maintaining the same percentage would lead to victory in 24 out of 28 seats. Bhandary underscored the transition from electoral promises to implementation, anticipating voter gratitude towards the Congress for its commitments.
