At a rally supporting SP and INDIA bloc candidate Sunita Verma, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav remarked that the first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh has shifted the political landscape, signaling a setback for the BJP. Yadav, addressing the gathering, likened the BJP’s electoral campaign to a failed film on its opening day, asserting that the public is disinterested in their repetitive narratives and reluctant to grant them their votes.

Describing Meerut as a bastion of revolutionaries, Yadav urged the people to contribute to liberating the country from the BJP’s influence. He criticized the BJP’s recent guarantees, labeling them as deceitful tactics aimed at misleading the public. Yadav emphasized the significance of upholding the constitutional guarantees, particularly those pertaining to dignity, employment, and reservation.

Yadav also accused the BJP of corruption and avoidance of crucial issues like electoral bonds. He urged vigilant monitoring of polling booths to thwart any unfair practices. Yadav highlighted the plight of farmers and promised that the INDIA bloc, if elected, would ensure fair minimum support prices for agricultural produce, a key demand of farmers. Polling in Meerut is scheduled for the second phase on April 26.
