The much-anticipated Kannada film “Mr. Natwar Lal,” starring Tanush Shivanna and Sonal Monteiro, is all set to grace the silver screen this coming weekend on February 23. The release of the film’s trailer has already ignited significant curiosity among audiences.
Taking inspiration from the 1979 Hindi hit film of the same name, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, “Mr. Natwar Lal” is a crime-action thriller helmed by director V. Lava. Loosely based on the life of the infamous conman Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava, commonly known as Natwarlal, who was renowned for his audacious frauds, including the purported sale of iconic Indian landmarks like the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort, the film promises an intriguing narrative filled with elements of crime and action.
Tanush Shivanna, known for his roles in “Madamakki” and “Nanjundi Kalyana,” not only headlines the film but has also taken on the role of producer under his banner Tanush Cinemas. Sonal Monteiro, known for her performance in “Garadi,” stars opposite Shivanna as the female lead. The ensemble cast includes Nagabhusan, Rajesh Nataranga, Sujay Shastry, Yash Setty, Sudhi, KS Sridhar, Triveni Rao, and veteran actor Padma Vasanthi in pivotal roles.
Directed by V. Lava, with a screenplay penned by the same, “Mr. Natwar Lal” boasts cinematography by Vikrant Rona fame DOP William David, music by Dharma Vish, and editing by K. M. Prakash. The film’s soundtrack, featuring lyrics by director Chethan Kumar, has already received praise alongside the teaser and songs.
At the trailer launch event, attended by political figures and industry stalwarts, director V. Lava described the film as a gripping crime thriller, rooted in real-life events from Bengaluru. Tanush Shivanna, expressing his gratitude for the support received during the film’s production, highlighted the significance of the roles he portrayed in the movie.
With anticipation soaring and positive responses pouring in for the trailer, “Mr. Natwar Lal” promises to deliver an engaging cinematic experience, leaving audiences eagerly awaiting its release this weekend.
