Sachdeva credits Delhi voters for green crackers

New Delhi

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has credited the people of Delhi for the Supreme Court’s approval to burst green crackers during Diwali. He said that it was the voters’ decision to elect a BJP government that helped revive the tradition of celebrating Diwali responsibly.

“There is great excitement among Delhiites after the Supreme Court’s nod. I credit the voters for electing a government that understands their culture and faith,” Sachdeva told. He added that the BJP government placed the facts correctly before the Supreme Court, unlike the previous AAP administration, which he accused of misleading the court on pollution.

Sachdeva alleged that former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government had earlier misrepresented data, leading to a complete ban on firecrackers, including green ones. “The previous government deliberately presented wrong facts so that permission would be denied,” he said.

The BJP leader noted that the court’s permission for green crackers has brought joy, especially to children. He emphasized that Delhi’s current weather is clear and pollution levels are lower than before. “This year, Delhi will see a balance of culture and environment,” he added.

Sachdeva also criticized AAP leader Gopal Rai for trying to mislead citizens about Delhi’s pollution levels. He said spreading false information had been AAP’s “habit for the last 10 years.”

Calling the Supreme Court’s ruling a victory for faith and responsibility, he said it proves that “tradition, environment, and development can go hand in hand” while accusing AAP of engaging in appeasement politics.
