Instead of people wandering to government offices, officials visit the doorsteps, listen to the problems, solve them on the spot and provide facilities, said MLA Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa.
He spoke while inaugurating the district level Janata Darshan program organised in Belavanur village in collaboration with district administration, district panchayat and various departments on Wednesday.
He said that people should avoid going to the office for government facilities and to avoid the situation of having to go to the taluk, district and state level for small and minor problems, the government will conduct Janata Darshan every 15 days at the district and taluk level to listen to people’s problems and solve them on the spot.
He said that by listening to people’s problems and solving them on the spot, people’s time and expenses will be saved and confidence will be built in the government.
Deputy Commissioner Dr MV Venkatesh said that the basic purpose of this Janata Darshan programme, which is being done by the people, for the people, is that the district and taluk level officials respond to the problems of the common people and provide solutions on the spot.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Suresh Itnal 120 applications have been received including toilet, drinking water problem and drainage system in Belavanoor Gram Panchayat and they will be resolved soon.
Village Panchayat President Huvvamma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Durgasree, Tahsildar Dr MB Ashwath, Gram Panchayat Vice President Naveen Kumar and various department officials and leaders were present.
