Bengaluru’s escalating traffic congestion, particularly around IT-BT areas, has garnered national attention, prompting the Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA) to take action. ORRCA has identified 36 troublesome traffic spots in the city and has put forth a range of suggestions, including the creation of a separate civic corporation alongside the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Among the 36 identified dangerous spots are locations like Sun City, Iblur Junction, Spring Field Bellandur Gate Junction, Embassy Park rear gate Junction, Sakra Hospital Road, Bellandur Lake Junction, Yamlur Junction, Marathahalli police station, More Mall junction, Sarjapur Road, Wipro Junction, STP Balagere Junction, and Mahadavepura bus stop junction. The traffic issue in Bengaluru has reached critical levels, exacerbated by the increasing number of vehicles, particularly in the IT-BT belt encompassing areas like Electronics City, Whitefield, Varthur, and Sarjapur. The traffic gridlock, particularly around Electronics City and Sarjapur, has been a subject of national discussion over the past three days. Addressing this challenge is a top priority of the ‘Brand Bengaluru’ project, with the BBMP actively seeking input and suggestions for improved traffic management. As the city continues to grow and evolve, tackling its traffic woes has become a crucial concern for both local authorities and the business community.
