Karnataka Bandh, Protesters Block Road

Due to protests in the city, transport buses are not plying the road. Students struggled without buses to go to Chamarajanagar Medical College. They waited for the bus for more than two hours as they were not given leave even though there was a bandh, and then they went to the college in an ambulance.

Sugarcane Growers’ Association, pro-Kannada organisations held a road block at Bhubaneswari circle where the national highway passes from 6 am on Friday and vented their anger against the state government. Farmer Hallikerehundi Bhagyaraj, led by pro-Kannada fighter  CR Srinivasa Gowda, hit the national highway and shouted slogans against the government.

Everyone including fellow farmer leaders Goude Gowda participated in Hanur.

Later, they staged a half-naked demolition service in the middle of the road and raised fire against the government.   The protest march will be started from Bhubaneswari Circle to KSRTC Bus Stand, Gundlupet, Santhemarahalli.

A procession was held in the shop streets of Kollegala and Hanur taluks. In Santhemarahalli circle, they expressed outrage that the government is putting flowers on the ears of the farmers.   They vented their anger against the governments by symbolically hitting the farmers with a cane as a sign that the government was giving them a cane. Transport came to a stand still and almot all shops except milk selling booths were closed.
