Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao has unveiled a new initiative called Griha Arogya, aimed at bringing healthcare services directly to the doorstep of every individual in the state. During an interview with a private media outlet, Gundurao highlighted the successful implementation of schemes like Griha Jyoti and Griha Lakshmi in the state. Building on these accomplishments, the government is taking steps to introduce a new scheme that focuses on providing health check-ups by sending doctors to people’s homes. The concept involves a team of medical professionals visiting households to conduct health assessments and offer free medicines for specific health issues. The initial phase of the scheme is set to be rolled out in eight districts across the state. The emphasis is on early disease detection and prevention rather than just treatment. Under the proposed Home Health Scheme, healthcare personnel will visit homes on a daily basis to conduct health checks for family members. Medications will be provided on-site for minor ailments such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Additionally, hand-held X-ray devices will be used for more accurate assessments. If serious conditions are identified, individuals will be promptly referred for further treatment. The primary goal of Griha Arogya is to prevent the progression of common illnesses into severe diseases, ultimately saving lives. Minister Gundurao emphasized that the government’s focus is not only on introducing new projects but also on effectively implementing existing crucial initiatives to ensure their benefits reach the people.
