Rao urges IT companies to pack bags, take businesses to Hyderabad instead, claiming it has better resources
The Bengaluru versus Hyderabad ‘infra war’ has taken a new turn. Telangana minister KT Rama Rao asked IT companies to move to Hyderabad. “Pack your bags and move to Hyderabad,” advised the information technology and industries minister to a startup founder who highlighted the poor infrastructure in Bengaluru.
“We have better physical infrastructure… and equally good social infrastructure. Our airport is one of the best… More importantly, our government’s focus is on the ‘three I mantra’: innovation, infrastructure & and inclusive growth,” he wrote on Twitter. This was in response to a Tweet posted by Khatabook founder Ravish Naresh, who flagged bad roads, power cuts, poor quality water supply and other problems in Bengaluru. “Startups in HSR/Koramangala (India’s Silicon Valley) are already generating billions in taxes.
