 A 30-year-old garment employee was injured after a group of three men assaulted him with lethal weapons recently near Gottigere after he allegedly posted a young woman’s video.
Konanakunte police registered a case of attempted culpable homicide and criminal intimidation against the gang on March 28, a few days after the attack. The injured is Rajendra Kallappa Mane, a garment employee and resident of Gottigere.
Police sources said Mane had befriended his colleague and used to visit her residence. He expressed interest in marrying her daughter. His colleague said she’d get back after discussing with her husband and other family members. But Rajendra posted a video of his colleague’s daughter on his WhatsApp status. The girl’s father Mani saw Rajendra’s status and lost his cool.
Mani along with his friend Shivanna and Kiran reached Mane’s rental house on the night of March 24. The trio attacked Mane with a beer bottle, iron pipe and wooden log and fled the spot. Mane was admitted to a hospital the next day and filed a police complaint three days later.
