The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has been fined Rs 50,000 for erecting an unauthorized banner in the Miller Tank Bed Area (Queens Road) of the city. The violation was reported in Vasantnagar Ward-93, where an unauthorized banner commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and former Chief Minister Devaraja Arasu was placed in front of the Congress office. The authorities have taken action against the KPCC for not obtaining official permission or authorization from the Corporation for installing the banner on the property. As a result, a fine of Rs 50,000 has been imposed on the State President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, along with other office bearers, including the District President. The directive to pay the fine amount into the account of the Hon’ble Chief Commissioner has been issued. The violation highlights the importance of adhering to regulations regarding the installation of banners and other forms of public displays. The fine serves as a reminder to political organizations and entities to obtain proper permissions before putting up banners or advertisements in public spaces. This incident also sheds light on the need for responsible and lawful use of public properties and spaces to maintain the aesthetics and orderliness of the city.
