The Congress party took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of Chinese incursions in Ladakh, suggesting that he prioritizes his image over the welfare of the country. Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications, criticized the Prime Minister on social media, stating, The Prime Minister is more concerned about his image than the country. So after the intrusion on June 19, 2020, he gave a clean chit to China. Pawan Khera, Congress Spokesperson and Chairman of Media and Publicity, also expressed his opinion on the matter, saying, Any other Prime Minister would have gone to these areas and sent a loud signal to China. Our Prime Minister whimpered a clean chit. Thank you Rahul Gandhi for sending out the much-required message to China and the world. This is our land. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who was visiting Ladakh, stated that China has taken Indian land in Ladakh. He mentioned that there is concern about the land taken by China and its impact on the people. He contradicted Prime Minister Modi’s assertion that no Indian land has been lost to China. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge previously criticized PM Modi for giving China a clean chit and urged for a strategic confrontation with China rather than making empty claims. He emphasized the importance of tackling the issue with a strategic approach.
