BBMP Mulls Permanent Position For Injured Lab Operator

Must read

The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is reportedly considering the possibility of offering a permanent position to Jyoti, a lab operator who sustained severe injuries in the recent fire accident at the BBMP office. Jyoti, currently undergoing treatment at Victoria Hospital, was hired on a contract basis with a modest salary. The decision to potentially make her job permanent comes as an acknowledgment of her dedication and the hardships she endured due to the unfortunate incident. Jyoti was among the individuals injured in the BBMP head office’s quality control laboratory fire that transpired a week ago. The fire left her with burns on her face and hands, leading to the cancellation of her scheduled marriage. News sources have revealed that officials within the corporation have been made aware of her situation and are contemplating making her employment permanent as a gesture of support and appreciation for her dedication. Senior officials from the corporation convened a meeting to deliberate on this matter, culminating in a decision to potentially offer Jyoti a permanent position. The discussions have reportedly reached the ears of BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath, who also discussed the situation with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. This proactive approach demonstrates the corporation’s commitment to acknowledging the contributions of its employees and providing the necessary support during times of adversity. The fire incident not only caused injuries to Jyoti but also led to significant harm to other individuals, including chief engineer Shivakumar, and left seven others with minor injuries. Acting upon the directive of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, all the affected staff members are receiving intensive care treatment. The potential move to secure Jyoti’s employment highlights the BBMP’s sense of responsibility towards its employees, especially those who have suffered personal setbacks in the line of duty.
