Strict security enforced as KSRP Constable Exams begin

CH NEWS, BENGALURU

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) implemented foolproof security measures and live webcasting surveillance across the state on Sunday to oversee the competitive written examination for filling 2,314 vacant constable posts within the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) and allied wings.

The statewide recruitment drive was split into distinct shifts to accommodate thousands of aspirants. For candidates belonging to the Residual Cadre (non-Hyderabad-Karnataka regions), the morning shift examination commenced at 10:30 AM. This session was held across 333 designated centers spanning eight districts, including Bengaluru, drawing a massive turnout of 142,912 registered candidates aiming to secure positions in law enforcement.

Meanwhile, the afternoon examination session for candidates applying under the Kalyana-Karnataka region started at 3:00 PM. Conducted across 85 centers located within four regional districts, this common test registered an attendance pool of 38,332 aspirants vying for specialized local cadre openings. In total, over 181,000 applicants appeared for the drive, making it one of the largest administrative security exercises managed by the board this year.

To eliminate any scope of malpractice, cheating, or paper leaks, authorities placed every examination hall under comprehensive closed-circuit television (CCTV) coverage. A centralized monitoring system streamed live webcasting feeds directly to KEA headquarters. Executive Director H. Prasanna closely monitored operations, instructing candidates to comply strictly with the standardized dress codes and verify instructions carefully before attempting the test.

Police forces and administrative squads were deployed extensively outside sensitive exam zones to manage traffic and disperse large gatherings of accompanying relatives. Officials confirmed that the examination concluded peacefully without major disruptions, setting the stage for subsequent physical standard tests and endurance evaluations.
