Davanagere Lok Sabha MP Dr. Prabha Mallikarjun heard public complaints and received memoranda during a Janata Darshan programme at her office in the District Administration Complex on Tuesday.
People from different parts of the constituency attended the programme and directly shared their problems, concerns and development needs with the MP.
Women and residents from Basavanakote in Jagalur taluk, Honnali, Nyamathi, Harapanahalli, Davanagere South and several rural and urban areas submitted petitions. Their complaints covered drinking water, roads, drainage, electricity, pensions, revenue matters and social security benefits. Many residents also sought new infrastructure and development works in their localities.
Dr. Prabha Mallikarjun personally reviewed the representations and listened to the concerns raised by each visitor. She assured the public that she would coordinate with officials from the concerned departments and seek solutions based on the urgency and importance of each issue. She said no genuine complaint would be ignored.
The MP said listening directly to citizens is an important responsibility of an elected representative. She added that Janata Darshan helps strengthen communication between elected representatives and the public. She assured residents that their needs would remain a priority and promised regular coordination with government departments to speed up action.
The programme also gave citizens an opportunity to receive guidance about departmental procedures and available government services. Officials and staff helped clarify several petitions on the spot. The MP said continued public interaction would help identify local problems more clearly and ensure that development efforts reach people who need them most. The event ended with assurances that the submitted petitions would be followed up with the concerned authorities.
