325 civic workers receive free health checks

A free health check-up camp was organised for 325 civic workers and garbage auto drivers from the Bommanahalli zone, giving frontline workers an opportunity to undergo important medical tests without cost. The camp was organised by Bengaluru South Municipal Corporation in association with Sri Lakshmi Global Hospital at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Maidan in HSR Layout.

Doctors at the camp conducted blood pressure, diabetes, ECG and bone-related examinations for the workers. Those requiring further attention were provided medicines and medical advice. The initiative focused on helping workers identify health problems early while recognising the demanding work they perform to keep the city clean.

Corporation Commissioner K. N. Ramesh inspected the camp and directed officials to identify workers suffering from serious conditions, including heart and respiratory problems. He asked officers to maintain a list of such cases and ensure that affected workers receive proper treatment and regular follow-up.

The Commissioner also asked civic workers to make full use of the cashless medical services available through Sri Lakshmi Global Hospital. He directed officials to distribute health cards immediately to permanent
