Six migrant workers from district were killed in a horrific road accident involving a tanker lorry and an auto-rickshaw on National Highway 65 in Telangana’s Sangareddy district.
The accident occurred on the outskirts of Satwar village in Mogudampally mandal when the auto-rickshaw carrying the workers was hit by a tanker while they were returning home after work.The deceased have been identified as Rekha, Sridevi, Kavita, Nikita, Reshma and auto-rickshaw driver Devadas, all residents of Rajgira village in Bidar taluk.
Six others, Nirmala, Tulajamma, Chandrakala, Radhika, Shilpa and Shobha, sustained injuries in the accident. Tulajamma is reportedly in critical condition. The injured were shifted to hospitals in Sangareddy and Bidar for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
RDPR Minister Eshwar Khandre on Wednesday visited the injured persons undergoing treatment at the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS) following a tragic road accident in Telangana that claimed the lives of six labourers from Bidar. Khandre met the injured persons at BRIMS Hospital and enquired about their health and treatment. He spoke to them and assured them of all possible support from the government.Of the injured, three are undergoing treatment in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at BRIMS, while three others are being treated in another ward. Another injured person is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. Speaking to the media after meeting the injured, Khandre expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of six labourers from Rajgeera village in Bidar taluk.
It is extremely tragic that six people from Rajgeera village have lost their lives. The government will provide Rs 5 lakh compensation from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the family of each deceased person, he said. Khandre assured that the government would stand by the families of the deceased as well as those injured in the accident and provide necessary assistance.
