India’s general flexi staffing industry recorded 7.9 per cent net headcount growth in FY26, adding 1.18 lakh formal temporary and flexible workers according to the Indian Staffing Federation. The total formal flexi workforce reached 1.91 million, while IT staffing rebounded with 10.1 per cent year on year employment growth. Industry leaders said demand from global capability centres, retail, logistics and manufacturing supported hiring. Quarterly data showed cautious stabilisation in the final quarter, with flexi employment rising 0.9 per cent and IT staffing up 0.2 per cent. The report also highlighted youth led workforce formalisation, with many new employees joining organised payrolls. Continued focus on skills development, formal employment, and productivity.
