Senior religious leaders and dignitaries extended blessings and praise for former minister K.S. Eshwarappa during his 78th birthday celebrations held in Shivamogga, expressing wishes for his continued service and leadership in public life.
Udupi Pejawar Math Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, who inaugurated the event, prayed that divine grace may bless Eshwarappa with an opportunity to lead the government in the future. He noted that Eshwarappa continues to remain active in social and cultural service, describing him as someone who lives for society, particularly when issues of dharma and cultural values arise.
The event was organised near Eshwarappa’s residence by his supporters along with several social organisations. It included collective Satyanarayana puja, Rudra recitation, cultural programmes and devotional group singing by more than 500 women participants. The celebration also featured religious rituals and community gatherings.
Swamiji Vishwaprasanna Tirtha observed that despite being 78 years old, Eshwarappa’s energy and involvement in public life resemble that of a much younger individual. He said that Eshwarappa has been actively engaged in cultural and religious activities and has earned public affection through his social involvement.
Basava Murthy Madara Chennaiah Swamiji of Madara Chennaiah Gurupitha said Eshwarappa has maintained ideological consistency throughout his life, adding that he has never compromised on his principles even during political challenges. He praised him as a leader who dedicated his life to social and religious causes.
Mallikarjuna Murugharajendra Swamiji of Bekkinakal Math highlighted Eshwarappa’s association with religious institutions and social initiatives, including cow protection efforts through trust activities. He said life gains meaning when lived for the welfare of others rather than personal interests.
Nadamayanandanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri branch Math said true legacy is defined by deeds and service, noting that Eshwarappa’s work in social and religious fields has earned him respect and recognition.
RSS leader Pattabhi, who received the ceremonial ‘Mangal Nidhi’, said society follows a tradition of expressing gratitude through religious offerings. He said Eshwarappa has remained committed to cultural and ideological values throughout his public life.
The programme was attended by several religious leaders, legislators, social organisation representatives and a large gathering of supporters, making it a major community event in Shivamogga.
