Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed the officials to complete the pending works under the railway bridge of the Okalipur eight-way Corridor near Majestic within 25 days.

After visiting and inspecting various development works under the jurisdiction of Central and Western Municipal Corporations, he said that the Railway Department has already completed 2 box pushing works at the bottom of the bridge. Accordingly, he instructed the officials to complete the construction of a connection road for vehicular traffic in 1 box section of the route from Majestic towards Rajajinagar within 25 days.

At the same place, the construction of a connection road for the box road leading towards the KSR Bangalore Railway Station, the construction of a 1,200 mm diameter water channel for rainwater drainage, a retaining wall of about 63 m long and the construction of a footpath should be completed within the time limit. He told the officials to start the construction of a new pedestrian overbridge at the same place.

Complete one side of the 1.8 km long white topping work from Dr Rajkumar Road from Navarang to Star Bazaar signal by the end of July and open it to vehicular traffic. Then, he instructed the officials to complete the work on the other side by the end of October. He instructed the officials to properly maintain the 425 m long white topping from Chitrapur Cross to 18th Cross Road.

The then BBMP had started the construction of an eight-lane signal-free corridor at Okalipur Junction near Majestic in 2013-14. Now, six lanes are open for vehicular traffic. However, the construction of two underbridges on the Chennai railway line was pending. Now, it is almost complete.
