Yadgir
An 8-year-old girl died after a house wall collapsed during heavy rain and strong winds in Tumkur village of Vadagera taluk in Yadgir district. The deceased has been identified as Akshata, daughter of Siddappa. Officials said the kitchen wall of the house gave way due to intense rainfall and gusty winds. At the time of the incident, children were playing in the courtyard nearby. Akshata was trapped under the debris and died on the spot. Two other children sustained injuries and were shifted to Yadgir YIIMS Hospital for treatment. Senior officials visited the site and inspected the damage. A case has been registered at Vadagera Police Station and further assessment is underway.
