Fans of Telugu cinema are in for a nostalgic treat as the popular romantic comedy Darling is set for a grand return to theatres in a new 4K version. The film originally starred Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal, and was first released in 2010. The re-release has been announced by SVCC, who also dropped a new trailer that highlights the film’s emotional and light-hearted love story. The makers described it as a tale of “a love that never faded,” sparking excitement and nostalgia among fans. Directed by A Karunakaran, the film follows the story of a young man who pretends to be in love to avoid an arranged marriage, only to discover real feelings along the way. Its simple storytelling and emotional moments made it a big success when it first released. The music, composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, was also a major highlight and remains popular among fans even today. The film was produced by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and is now being re-released by Kedar Films. The new 4K version is scheduled to hit theatres on April 23, 2026, giving audiences a chance to experience the film again on the big screen. The original Darling was both a critical and commercial hit and later inspired a Kannada remake. With Prabhas now a pan-India star, the re-release is expected to attract both longtime fans and a new generation of viewers.
